14.8.14

I took 14.8.14 one hot August,

in a swimming pool filled

with screaming kids. 

I took my kids to it

and they had the time of their lives

while I wanted badly to get

the hell out of there. 

I laid in the sun with my bathing suit,

trying to ease into the situation ,

when I looked to my right

and saw my hair band laying next to me.

It reminded me

all the great blessings I have

and in an instant brought me back

to the present moment.
