Got to have it!
16.6.12 is about the multiple women
that hide in all of us.
It's about not giving a damn,
doing your thing,
regardless of the circumstances.
Somewhere in 1997 I received
a collection of old
FBI cards from the 1950s.
I was stunned by it,
especially when I came across Marilyn Buck
and saw that our physicality is identical.
Same height, eye color, same weight.
We both wear prescription glasses
and even have the same scar
on our left arm.
I saw myself in her.
This work has 3 layers of time.
The 1st is my passport photos,
taken in 1998 in the East Village
in my favorite shop “Live Shop Die.”
The 2nd is when I glued them
onto the original FBI card in 2002.
the 3rd was in 2012,
when i decided to make a huge
blow-up scan of the small FBi card
and passport photos,
and transform it to a large scale,
tangible art piece.
Blow up scan of original FBI card & passport photos on fine art paper 100 x 100 cm | 39.37 x 39.37 In 1/10
$10,000
