I received from my ex-husband
after a huge fight.
This was the first time
he ever said he’s sorry.
I took the old Nokia phone
and scanned it,
only to realize the deep context those
three words had with each other.
In addition to the word : “sorry,”
the template of the phone had
2 other words:
“Options” and “Exit.”
These resonated deeply
with my situation at the time,
of a marriage that were
on the verge of ending daily.
It was an echo of my
never-ending dilemma-
whether to continue fighting for
keeping our family together,
or take the longest breath I ever took
and start a new chapter in my life,
just me and my babies.
exactly one year after i made this work,
my marriage were over.
